This page will have pictures and thoughts and such from my latest trip to Los Angeles. It's far from finished, but that's what updates are for.
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

Angela and I went and saw Les Miserables. It was so excellent. The same man who played Jean Valjean in Kalamzoo when I saw it last May played him again in Los Angeles. He just steals the show. And this time, I didn't have anyone to be pissed at. What a novelty.
Do you hear the people sing?
Singing a song of angry men?
It is the music of a people
Who will not be slaves again!
When the beating of your heart
Echo's the beating of the drums
There is a life about to start
When tomorrow comes!
cousins.jpg
These are my cousin's. We had some fun during the best Super Bowl ever. Hands down. And all I have to say is, throw the damn ball in the end zone you moron.
We're going to have some family pictures here, so just get use to it.
It's only two o'clock and the temperature's beginning to soar
And all around the city you see the walking wounded and the living dead
It's never been this hot and I've never been so bored
And breathing is just no fun anymore
Then I saw you like a summer dream
And you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said
I saw you like a summer dream
And you're the answer to every prayer that I ever said

On the seventh day my eyes were all a glaze
We've been ten thousand miles
Been in fifteen states
Every woman seemed to fade out of my mind
I hit the bottle and I hit the sack and cried
What's all this laughter on the 22nd floor
It's just some friends of mine
And they're busting down the door
It's been a lonely night at the Memory Motel
Oh yes it has
crow.jpg
I was a loner
Cruisin' with the wind
I wasn't looking
When you pulled me in
I had to leave you
Like I always did
You knew damn well I'd come again
crow01.jpg
Nothing ever grows in this rotting old hole
And everything is stunted and lost
And nothing really rocks
And nothing really rolls
And nothing's ever worth the cost
crow02.jpg
Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose
Nothin' don't mean nothin' if it ain't free
Yeah and feelin' good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues
You know, feelin' good was good enough for me
Good enough for me and my Bobby McGee
mike.jpg
And twisted thoughts that spin round my head, I'm spinnin'
Oh I'm spinnin', how quick a sun can drop away
And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything
All the pictures sent all been washed in black
...tattooed everything
All the love gone bad turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all that I'll be yeaheah
hulk.jpg
I was told I'd be killed if I put this picture up, but I love the Hulk.
Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could think I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin', I can hear them say
aunts.jpg
Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Now don't you cry no more

Never knew there were so many Levian's out there, did you?
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her icewater mansion.
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams;
The isles and bays are for sportsmen.

And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her,
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the gales of November remembered.

In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed,
In the "Maritime Sailors' Cathedral."
The church bell chimed till it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.

The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitchigumi
Superior, they say, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.
